Each year, we choose one or two special-interest trips to showcase. For summer 2017, we are bringing back our Lewis and Clark/Salmon River History trip with historian, Mike Crosby. This has been a big hit. Each evening, Mike will lead informal discussions about various aspects of the Lewis and Clark expedition, with topics including frontier surgery and what happened to expedition members at its conclusion. This is a special trip. Mike gets into character each evening with period clothing and shares his collection of vintage surgery kits, mess kits, and other unique pieces.
We are also running a special Main Salmon Lodge-to-Lodge river trip. This is a unique opportunity for those unsure about camping for week on the Salmon. We’ll spend each day floating and exploring the river and spend each night in a different riverside lodge. Meals and rooms are provided by the lodge owners.
